How Your 5Cities Homeless Coalition Contributions Went to Work in 2015...

Housing Assistance: helped move 62 families from the streets into homes fam Helping Hands: responded to over 170 requests to help families and individuals with bus passes, textbooks, childcare, utility assistance, auto repair, groceries, gas cards, household items and more shoesShoes: provided 230 children and adults with athletic shoes donated by Running Warehouse and others Backpacks and School Supplies: with support from New Life Community Church and others, provided 400 school children with backpacks and school supplies Referrals and Ongoing Support: fielded more than 1,000 calls from families in crisis, connecting them with support and services throughout the county Sleeping Bags, Pillows and Air Mattresses: with help from Phillips 66 Santa Maria Refinery and others, distributed sleeping bags and air mattresses valued at more than $40,000 Feminine Hygiene Products: with support from Nipomo Community Presbyterian Church, Eco Club Five Cities and others, distributed personal hygiene products valued at more than $5,000 Food and Snack Sacks: with help from Assemblyman Achadjian, local businesses such as California Fresh Market, and community groups such as Nipomo Kiwanis, Dignity Health and others,snacks distributed more than 100 holiday meals and 400 healthy snacks sacks Volunteer Support: hundreds of community members have joined us in support of homeless families Office and Client Meeting Space: meeting space for clients and agencies is provided by Dick Blankenburg and familyvolunteer Office Furniture and Equipment: received donations of used desks and cubicles from Rabobank
