With your help, we can change San Luis Obispo County

Our Impact

5Cities Homeless Coalition is working to strengthen our community by mobilizing resources, support, and hope for those who are homeless or facing homelessness in Southern San Luis Obispo County. Through collaboration and leadership, we are building an engaged community that fully understands the complexities of homelessness and that actively shares the responsibility of creating and implementing solutions to reduce it.

In 2024, our office saw 758 households, totaling more than 1,400 adults and children through our coordinated entry process, apart from the more than 7,500 calls for service we received. The Point-in-Time count conducted in 2019 identified 355 chronically homeless individuals in South County, and our County is uniquely high in the United States for individuals experiencing homelessness while entirely unsheltered.

From building shelter solutions, like our Temporary Emergency Shelters: Cabins for Change and Balay Ko on Barca, to immediate needs requests, to eviction prevention, to a dedicated Warming Center Facility, 5Cities Homeless Coalition has impacted thousands of lives throughout San Luis Obispo County over its decade-plus history as a leader in our nonprofit community.
